Happy Birthday, Benson!!

Today is the kind of day us grandmas live for!!! I always say grandchildren are the WHOLE reason that we didn't kill our kids! Today we got to add ONE more child to our collection. (Did I mention that we collect grandkids??) Benson was born to Tiffany and Kevin this morning around 8:30.

This is a picture of Tiffany on Sunday. Boy, (no PUN intended) was so she ready to have this whole thing over with!!

Benson weighed in at 6 lbs 11 ozs. and is 19 inches long. Rick and I brought the kids into the hospital at about 10:00 am. This picture is their "first meeting" with him.

Isn't he just the most beautiful baby you have ever seen!!!???

He is only a couple of hours old here.

proud, proud, proud, proud, proud grandma!!

There is a lot of Carston in this little guy.

When Carston held him, I asked him, "so what are you going to teach your brother? " He thought for a minute and then said (like only a GUY can say), "I'm going to teach him how to use a remote."

Tiffany looks beautiful, especially considering that she has just barely delivered!

Carston and Anabelle "Chose" some flowers for their mom, and they were VERY proud of their choice. They wanted us to take a picture of them.

What a beautiful picture! Pictures like this are what LIFE is ALL about. I love being a Grandma. Watching my family grow brings me more joy than anything else in my life. I am so thankful that we can be together as a family forever.

There is no greater blessing.

Thank you, Kevin and Tiffany for a wonderful day and a beautiful family.

Cody Gets a Life

A couple of Sunday's ago we went to a Boy Scout Court of Honor for Cody's troop. We are so in-to the scouting thing, that when he put on his shirt, he discoverd that it was a size too small, so when hegot to the church he traded shirts with one of the younger boys who was wearing a very large shirt. It worked out perfectly for BOTH boys. I just hate to buy him a new shirt at this point in the game--but I might just have too! He was finally awarded his "Life" rank. We were so proud of him, but unfortunately, I forgot my camera. (what kind of blogger am I?)
This reminded me of when he was a cub scout and he loved scouting so much that he announced that he was going to be "the world's best SCOUT!" His enthusiasm has dimmed a tiny bit, but at least he is still working on his goal of getting his eagle. Now he just has to fill out his paperwork, and do his eagle project, (does anybody have any good ideas??

....................and really, Cody does "have a life"!! He was been very busy these last few months, playing football for high school. We are all looking forward to seeing him a lot more. He only has ONE-1-Uno more game, and then we get him back!! I might sound like his mother, but he is such a good/cute kid! And doesn't he look cute in his football costume?

GOOD JOB, Cody!

You have a LIFE!

Snow Cookies

Carston went outside and came in with a little piece of snow, and asked Anabelle if she wanted a "snow cookie" Of course she wanted one, and she loved it!! I don't exactly know the recipe on this one, just ask Carston. All I know is that they must be really easy, because he was only outside for a split second. Now that's my kind of recipe!!

See Grandpa Cook

See grandpa. See grandpa cook. See grandpa cook about the only thing he knows how to cook at home. Cook, grandpa, cook!

Grandpa is creative. Grandpa can make funny faces with his eggs. Good job, grandpa! Grandpa can eat his eggs all gone. Grandpa likes to leave the dirty dishes for grandma to clean-up. Grandma likes grandpa's dirty dishes. Smile like the eggs, grandma. Smile!
